Americans Influenced by Jesus and Satan

It really isn’t politically correct these days to talk about Jesus in public, or even to speak about Satan in public. Both figures bring Christianity into the spotlight, which is right where it belongs. Your response to the Christian Gospel will reveal whether you are listening to Jesus, or to Satan. There is no getting around it. Whether you take a public position on the matter or not, you are in one camp or the other. That is because there are only two camps to which souls can belong.

You didn’t ask to be born. You didn’t ask to be created with a body and with an immortal soul. You are not the product of chance. You are not an accident. God saw you before He created you. Jesus has a path that can take you to paradise, literally. Satan wants to keep you from finding that path.

Jesus loves Americans, just like He loves all the people of the world. Satan hates everybody. Jesus died for the sins of everyone to rescue us from death and hell. Satan is a schemer who loves death and wants people in hell. Satan is a created being, originally created as a good angel before his heart turned bad. Jesus is the Creator. Satan hates the fact that he cannot be God, or even come close to God’s authority and power.

Satan hates marriage between a man and a woman because this God-ordained approach represents the relationship between Christ and His people. (see Eph. 5:25,26) Therefore, Satan does whatever he can to promote every other arrangement between two people. He even convinces Americans that young people are incapable of restraint. Jesus says that Americans who know Him are able submit their bodies to doing His will rather than to sensual abandon.

Your soul will only be satisfied in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Your soul will be destroyed if Satan gets his way in your life. Jesus came to give abundant life. Satan is the author of death, disease and destruction.

Satan loves to see unborn babies killed. Jesus loves unborn babies and warns people about what happens to those who hurt little ones. Satan wants no one to believe in Christ or follow Him. Jesus wants all people to be saved. Satan stirs up dissension in the home. Jesus brings peace and unity to families that rely upon His grace and power.

Jesus leads people into the light through the Word of God. Satan works to get people to doubt and reject the Bible. Jesus knows that the Scriptures are absolutely true. Satan knows the same thing, but he doesn’t want you to know it. So he works hard to plant seeds of doubt in your mind concerning God’s Word, just like he did with Adam and Eve.

Satan doesn’t want Americans to understand our Christian heritage as a nation. Jesus knows how this nation was founded largely upon Christian principles and biblical values. Just look at all the references to God and His Word that are on the walls of the government buildings and monuments in Washington, D.C.

Satan hates freedom of all kinds. Jesus is the King of freedom. Satan gave up his freedom when he rebelled in heaven. Jesus teaches His children how to pray. Satan hates it when God’s people pray. He fears it intensely because he knows that God answers prayer.

Jesus gives us access to the Father. Satan hates the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The blood of Jesus washes away the sin of a believer. Satan has no blood. He is an evil angel and a spirit being. Jesus is omnipresent. Since Satan is an angel, he can only be in one place at one time. He has many evil angels (demons) doing his dirty work for him. These fallen angels were created by God to be good, but they too rebelled in heaven as they followed Lucifer’s example.

Jesus has been patient with you as He has brought people into your life to share the truth with you. Satan has been jealous for your soul and he works everyday trying to get you agitated, distracted and even suspicious of Christianity. There is no peace for those who are listening to the devil, but only angst and spiritual confusion.

You will be thrilled to have the peace of God in your heart should you come to Jesus with the faith of a child. It will feel like a new birth, which of course is exactly what happens to someone who repents of his sin and trusts in Christ for salvation. If only everyone would go in that peaceful direction.

Satan tempts people to sin. Jesus sets the captives free. Satan promotes secular humanism as the answer. Jesus proclaims the Gospel message of forgiveness through His cross. Satan says that science can be your “savior.” Jesus is actually the Lord of science, history, and eternity. Satan lost. Jesus won. And you will either win or lose as well.

A person can only be born again through faith in Jesus. A person will remain lost in his sin unless he is delivered from Satan’s clutches. Jesus gives eternal life in heaven as a free gift. Satan leads souls toward eternal suffering in hell.

Satan tries to paint Christians and Christianity in a bad light. Jesus is perfect, pure and patient. Satan utilizes lust, greed, jealousy, and revenge. Jesus is full of love. Satan wants your soul to suffer forever. Jesus wants you to live in paradise forever.

Jesus is real. Satan is real. Jesus is all-powerful. Satan wishes he was too. Satan does have a lot of power that has been given to him, but one day he “will be thrown into the lake of fire where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10) Meanwhile, Jesus will be with His children in heaven as He is worshipped and glorified forever in joy, peace, and celebration.

Who’s side do you want to be on? Who’s eternal home do you want to be in? Who’s approach for America is a winning approach? Good and evil. Light and darkness. Heaven and hell. God and the devil. One was created, and went off on an unholy tangent. The other is eternal, and has stayed on a true course since before time began.

Satan is “the father of lies.” (John 8:44) Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) One is a liar. The other is the Lord. One deceives. The other leads in love, righteousness and truth. One hates you and your family. The other loves you and your family.

Jesus is who you need whether you realize it yet or not. Satan is far worse than your worst nightmare. Jesus can fulfill your dreams in ways you have not even imagined yet. Satan despises you and only wants to see you destroyed. Jesus can forgive your sin. Satan whispers in your ear about how satisfied you will be by giving into sin. The cross of Jesus is the remedy for your sin. Satan only multiplies your sin problem, but he never helps you overcome it.

Some Americans are passionate about promoting deeds of darkness. Others are passionate about promoting the love and purposes of the Savior. These two approaches couldn’t be more different from one another. Do you see the sharp contrast, or have you been blinded by the angel who got kicked out from heaven. (see 2 Cor. 4:4)

Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” (Luke 10:18) That’s a pretty fast trip down, wouldn’t you say? The moment this created being got an attitude toward God, he was given the boot. I bet you would rather go up than down. Here’s a tip: Stick close to Jesus and His agenda. It’s a winning approach. It sure beats having an attitude toward God. That’s a losing proposition any way you look at it.

Americans are influenced greatly everyday by Jesus and Satan. That’s just the nature of the beast, and the grace of God going on at the same time in all 50 states. So who’s influence are you under today?
